Art Quest Update 7-15-24

The quest continues, Fellow Creatures.   I’d like to say it’s been smooth sailing, but that would be far from the truth of late. Other priorities have taken the place of when I would be focusing on my art.   Mostly Summer activities, like sports and camp for the kids and a few vacations… which have all been a ton of fun. So, I wouldn’t say that I’m missing art at the time, but nevertheless, I’m still not getting as much drawing in as I’d hope for.   These times, when I do get some time to work on it, it’s usually in the evenings, after all my other responsibilities and goals are finished up for the day (like...

The (Art) Quest Continues

So I’ve been relatively consistent here, getting 30 minutes a day of drawing in alongside writing, family, and a full-time job.    I decided to start here, perspective drawing, per Radio Runner’s curriculum, and I gotta be honest, I started here because I knew it was going to be the biggest slog.  Drawing boxes, figuring out horizon lines and vanishing points, and working on drawing through… All important fundamentals I know I need to understand if I want to keep improving, yet still, I find myself rushing through this and making silly mistakes.   Overshooting my lines. Finding My Way Back

Where the heck have you been, Jeff?   Fair question, Fellow Creatures.   It’s been a while since there’s been anything new or anything shared from me.  For nearly two years I’ve turned on ghost-mode and been lurking in the shadows.   Doing what, you may ask?    Well, to start, trying to get back to the land of the living. Turns out, I was burnt out for a bit there, and writing and creating wasn’t giving me as much zest as they used to.    I tried to forge on, tried to power through my scheduled writing sessions in the early hours of the morning, but alas, it felt like I was trying to force a nail through wood with my bare...
