Book 3 has Begun and It Has a Name…

The adventure has begun.    If you read my blog from last time then you know I was nearing my second pass of edits on book 2 of the Scarred World Saga, Stone of the Scarred.   Well, I’m happy to say that as of writing this I’m officially off and running on book 3. About 10k words in to be exact.   And guess what? Book 3 officially has a name.   Sin of the Scarred.   In keeping with the whole S of the Scarred them I’ve got going on here, I landed on this being the a good place to be, as it should focus much more on Requiem, his past, and the Scarred’s history.   I so desperately want to share...

Under a God-Made Mountain is Out NOW!

Hot dang, Fellow Creatures!   It’s here. Launch day.    Under a God-Made Mountain is officially out and available on ebook, KU, paperback, and hardcover formats!    So click away and get ye some strange, horror-fantasy if you haven’t done so already.     Early beta readers and reviewers are calling it “a fast-paced odyssey into the darkness.”    So if you want in, you know what to do.    If you’ve been following along on this blog then you know I’ve talked about this book for close to a year now, so not sure how much I can say about it, other than I am really happy to put it in your hands finally.   It was a joy to write and got me back into the...

There’s still time!

To enter the contest I mentioned in my blog 2 weeks ago.    November 21st is in 6 days, but you can still enter to win a free, signed copy of Under a God-Made Mountain if you send a message to hallwaytoelsewhere@gmail.com with the subject line “Take me to the mountain” and your name and address in the body of the email.   I’ll choose one random winner and send it their way as a big thank you for following me into Elsewhere and joining this journey into the mountain.   As mentioned in the previous blog, I need to limit this contest to folks with a U.S. address due to the crazy shipping costs these days, but if...

What’s that in the distance? A contest?!

Ahoy, Fellow Creatures!    I hope all is swell in thy dell and you are surviving and thriving in your neck of Elsewhere.    Hard to believe that it’s November 1st, which means there are 3 weeks to go until Under a God-Made Mountain is officially put out into the wild.   Oy! My head is spinning a bit as it does with most releases. So much to do from a marketing standpoint and so much hope and emotion around it too.   Will it be perceived well? How’s the blurb? How else can I get the word out?   That’s just a smattering of thoughts constantly running through my noggin as we lead to release day.   So what can I do to help...

The Official Release Date Is…

Well, if you read my last blog a few weeks back and saw the cover reveal, you knew this was imminent, Fellow Creatures.   And, if you’re part of my newsletter, this is old news.   But Under a God-Made Mountain, my brand-new, standalone, horror-fantasy novel has an official release date.   November 21st!    It’s also officially up for pre-order on Amazon!   Gulp… That date is super close! And it’s always scary to push a new baby out of its nest.   But I think this one is ready. I’ve been toiling with it for over a year now, and it’s time for it to meet the rest of the world.   What’s it about? Well, here’s the current blurb you’ll find on Amazon. In the...

Updates, Updates, Updates!

Hey there, Fellow Creatures!    What’s good in thy woods? Hard to believe it’s already August! The Summer is flying by like all those Canadian geese I constantly hear honking overhead outside my window.     Hope you’ve been enjoying some sun and shade and are getting into some mischief.     The Hall clan has been staying busy in Elsewhere. There have been many trips to local swim spots, some camps for the kiddos, long walks with Casco and trying to keep him cool, and even some amusement parks thrown into the mix (which has exposed my cowardice in my older age. I can’t even hang in the kiddy-coasters!)    It’s been a bit of a whirlwind thus far, but I’m excited...

Switching Gears

Hey there, Fellow Creatures!   Hope all is good in the woods. As of writing this, I'm officially done with draft 1 of Stone of the Scarred.    The final word count is right around 117k. How can that be when I just wrote a blog about surpassing the 125k mark the other day?    Well, I ended up taking out a few chapters and switching some things around and cut it a little (or a lot if you think about the percentage of the story 8k is!), and I'm relatively happy where it ended up.   There's still plenty of editing that needs to happen to get it into tip-top shape, but first I'm switching gears a bit to concentrate...

A Call for Beta Readers

Hey there, FCs!    Hope all is good in the wood.     Coming at you for a request. Do you wanna be my beta reader?   For those who may have been following along in Elsewhere, you’ve probably seen me post a little about my standalone novel that I have tentatively titled, Under a God-Made Mountain.     Well, it’s been sitting in draft for long enough and it’s time I start making some progress on getting it out into the world. But that doesn’t start without getting a few sets of eyes on it.    Those eyes can belong to you!    I need a few folks to read it and give me their honest opinion on what’s working for them and what’s not so...

Shadow of the Dragod is OUT!

Shadow of the Dragod is officially out on both Ebook and Kindle!  It's here! Run like a giant dragon is chasing you to tell a friend, write a review, or give it a read (so long as you’re into YA dystopian fantasy.)    As mentioned in my most recent email, it’s been a while since I’ve published anything new so I am both excited, nervous, and pretty darn tired.  This one has been years in the making, but after many stops and starts, and a couple rewrites, the day has come to release it into the world.     Here’s the blurb if you haven’t glanced at it yet:   A world consumed by fire. A boy with a mysterious power. A...

Writing Update

Howdy howdy, Fellow Creatures!   Hope all is good in the woods.  I wanted to stop by here and give you all some updates on where things stand throughout my writing journey.   All in all, I’ve been busy, juggling a few different projects at once. Let’s just say, that they’re all moving forward in one way or another and I am excited to get them out there.    I hope you’re excited to read them!   But enough with the preamble… Let me tell you where I’m at.   Shadow of the Dragod I’ve just finished reviewing the edits suggested by my wonderful editor, Tamara Blain. As always, she provided some wonderful thoughts on how to tighten up my sentences and make them...
